It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
