AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that defies usual expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome transformations reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine group.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Features
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana in addition to several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
